Exhaust Fan

At approximately 6:52 PM on Sunday, March 5, 2006 the City of McCook Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1506 West Circle Drive.  Upon arrival of the fire department, personnel reported considerable smoke coming from the residence.  The residence is owned by Donald and Cathy Bradley.

 

Firefighters located a smoldering fire in the attic of the residence and had the fire under control within 5 minutes.  Firefighters spent approximately two hours on the scene extinguishing hot spots in the attic.

 

The fire department investigation revealed that the fire started in an exhaust fan located in the bathroom of the structure. There was extensive fire damage to the attic and smoke damage throughout the structure. Initial damage estimates are approximately $20,000 to the structure and $10,000 to the contents. 

 

The structure was occupied at the time of the fire.  The residents were able to escape with no injuries.

 

Fifteen firefighters, one pumper, one ladder truck, one ambulance and one rescue unit responded to the fire.
