| The McCook City and Volunteer Fire Department would like to
announce the recent successes of two members of the full-time staff.
Shane Smith has successfully passed the National Registry of Emergency
Medical Technicians-Intermediate exam. This certifies Shane as a
National Registered EMT-Intermediate.
As a National Registered EMT-Intermediate, Shane is certified to
perform advanced life support life-saving skills in the prehospital
setting.
Shane has been a full-time employee with the McCook City and Volunteer
Fire Department for three years. Before Shane's full-time service,
he served as a Volunteer Firefighter for the Red Willow Western Rural Fire
Department for 8 1/2 years. Shane is currently enrolled in the
EMT-Paramedic Course at the McCook Community College.
Dan Hartwell has successfully passed the National Registry of Emergency
Medical Technicians-Paramedic exam. This certifies Dan as a National
Registered EMT-Paramedic.
As a National Registered EMT-Paramedic, Dan is certified to perform
advanced life support life saving skills, such as administering
intravenous fluids and cardiac medications, inserting advanced airways,
and interpreting and treating different cardiac rhythms that require
emergency intervention.
Dan has been a full-time employee with the McCook City and Volunteer
Fire Department for two years. Before Dan's full-time service, he
served as a Volunteer Firefighter for the McCook City and Volunteer Fire
Department for approximately 18 months.
"We are proud of the achievements that these two individuals have
earned", stated Fire Chief/Paramedic Marc Harpham. "This
is a huge accomplishment and shows the true dedication that these two
individuals have toward their profession and their passion to provide
emergency care to the citizens of McCook. |
