Barnett park is located on US Highway 6&34 on the south edge of McCook laid out over 45 acres. The Republican River runs along the south edge of the park. This park is the home for many white-tailed deer, mule deer, long horned steer, and lots of different types of waterfowl. There are two pavilions at this location that are used for family gatherings and community events. There are five sand pits that are stocked with many different types of fish for children under 16 to fish for. There is a walking trail that takes you back along the river to fish or just to look for wildlife. The Army National Guard donated a retired M60A1 Battle Tank for display at the park.
Elk's City Park was donated by the Elks' Club in McCook. It is located on West 5th and "E" Street. This site has lots of room for an afternoon of football or playing tennis on the two regulation sized tennis courts. There is a swing set and slide available at this park.
Karrer Park is the city's RV and camping facility. It has 14 RV spaces and lots of space for primitive camping. The RV spaces have water in the summer months and electricity year round. No reservations are made at this site and we ask that your stay limited to three or four days.
Kelley Park is located on East 3rd and "M" Street. This park being the largest covers approximately six city blocks. Kelley park also has two pavilions for family gatherings, large variety of playground equipment. The Municipal swimming pool is also located on the grounds of Kelley park.
Norris park is Located on Norris Avenue and "G" Street. Norris Park has a good variety of playground equipment and a Bandshell. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
