Nate Schneider Biography
Nathan A. Schneider (better known as 'Nate') was hired as City Manager for the City of McCook in June, 2014. Prior to accepting the position of City Manager, Nate served as City Attorney for McCook from 2007 to 2014. Nate has also served as counsel for the Villages of Indianola and Bartley.
Nate moved to McCook when he was 12 years old and graduated from McCook Senior High in 1993. He attended Nebraska Wesleyan University from 1993-1997 where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Economics. From 1997 to 2000 he attended the University of Nebraska College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. Nate then returned to McCook to start his career in law where he practiced for 13 years before taking the City Manager position. He first worked as an Associate Attorney at Goodwin Law Office prior to opening his own private practice, Schneider Law Office. It wasn't long before he was approached by the law firm of Mousel and Garner to join their team. He worked as an Associate Attorney for three years at Mousel and Garner until the partnership of Mousel, Brooks, Garner and Schneider was formed in 2010.
Nate is actively involved in our community. He has served on the Community Hospital Foundation, CASA Board of Directors, and has served as the President of the Historic 14th Judicial Bar District. He has volunteered as a coach for various athletic teams and is a past member of the McCook YMCA Board of Directors, McCook Optimist Club, as well as being a 2002 Leadership McCook graduate.
Nate has also served as an adjunct professor for McCook Community College, teaching Business Law for five years and Western Civilization for one year.
Nate has done an excellent job representing the City from a legal attribute and is excited to serve the City and its citizens from an administrative aspect.
