Due to the predicted severity of the approaching winter storm, the City of McCook is asking for the cooperation of all City residents. Parking of any vehicles, including trailers, on either side of designated emergency snow routes is prohibited for the duration of this winter storm. Snow emergency routes are marked with green street signs as well as emergency snow route signs. If you are unsure whether your street has been designated an emergency snow route, please go to www.cityofmccook.com where you will find a listing. (List of streets below for your reference.)
With the length of time that it is forecast to snow, it may be necessary for the City to plow numerous times. We are also requesting that residents do not deposit snow into the streets, not only can it create a driving hazard, but also can cause melting snow to dam up and create flooding issues.
We would also like to remind residents that sidewalks should be cleared within 24 hours of the cessation of snow.
